Pope Francis reminds us that “the human environment and the natural environment deteriorate together; we cannot adequately combat environmental degradation unless we attend to causes related to human and social degradation” (LS\, 48). \nAs stewards of God’s creation\, we have a responsibility and privilege to heal both the earth and our communities. This Earth Day let’s come together to honor our sacred duty to care for one another and our planet. \nBarbara Yurasek Conklin is a recent graduate from Ohio Dominican University\, receiving a Master of Arts degree in Theology. She is the Marriage Preparation Coordinator for St. Peter’s parish in Douglas\, Michigan and supports various other ministries there as well. This presentation\, and the conversation we will have following it\, will frame the journey of faith within daily life with chronic illness and pain and offer prayerful and practical ways to reap abundant grace and encouragement all along the way. \nMaureen Pratt\, MTS\, MFA\, is an award-winning Catholic author of nine books including the devotional\, Peace in the Storm: Meditations on Chronic Pain and Illness (Image/Penguin Random House) and Beyond Pain: Job\, Jesus\, and Joy (Galilee Road Publishing) and\, for most of her life\, has experienced serious\, often-disabling\, pain and chronic illness\, including lupus. A 400-year tradition\, Las Posadas derives from the Spanish word for ‘lodging’ and in this devotion\, refers to the inn from the Nativity story. Explore the richness of this devotional practice and the lesson it has for all of us about making room in our hearts – for the Lord and his people. \nFather Stephen Dudek is a priest of the Diocese of Grand Rapids and has served as diocesan director of Missions since 2009. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Thomas Seminary in Denver and a Licentiate Degree in Theology from the Jesuit-run Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. While in Ghana\, he studied at the Tamale Institute of Cross-Cultural Studies. In 2002 he was awarded a Doctor of Ministry from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. For many years\, he has coordinated pilgrimages of Reverse Mission among the indigenous communities of the Archdiocese of Oaxaca (Mexico). Join Paulist Father Frank Desiderio for a reflection on the sacramental aspects of reconciliation in our daily living\, including how to celebrate the sacrament today. This presentation is part of the Encore series\, for those exploring spirituality and sharing wisdom in the second half of life. \nFrank Desiderio\, C.S.P.\, is celebrating 40 years as a priest this year. As President of Paulist Productions\, he executive produced more than twenty-five hours of television documentaries including “The Big Question: A Film About Forgiveness” which launched him into a ministry of retreats on the theme of forgiveness and reconciliation. He is the author of “Can You Let Go of a Grudge: Learn to Forgive and Get on With Your Life” from Paulist Press (2014).  He also has an audio series from Learn25\, “Letting Go: Five Steps to Forgiveness.” He holds a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland\, an M.A. in Theology from The Catholic University of America and an M.A. in Communications Management from The Annenberg School at USC. \nStarting as a parish priest in Los Angeles\, Father Desiderio has served as director of campus ministry at UCLA\, director of the Paulist Seminary\, St. Paul’s College\, in Washington\, D.C.\, and director of the Paulist Center in Boston. Currently\, he is First Consultor of the Paulist Fathers and lives in New York City. During the summer\, he serves as director of St. Mary’s of the Lake\, the Paulist summer home. DESCRIPTION:$15 donation suggested (Lunch included) \nJoin us in person or online \nRegistration required \nJoin Father Mike Cruickshank CSP for a panel discussion with senior Paulist Fathers about the aspects of aging and ministry. Garner insights about the importance of community\, the reality of loss\, and growing in wisdom.  Panelists are Father Bill Edens CSP\, Father Charlie Brunick CSP\, and Father Joachim Lally CSP. \nFr. Mike Cruickshank\, CSP is one of the two newest Paulist priests. He was ordained in 2021 and assigned to the Cathedral of Saint Andrews as an associate pastor. He’s still learning the ropes every day and trying to soak up the wisdom of his old(er) brother Paulists. \nFr. Bill Edens\, CSP has been a Paulist priest for over 40 years and is an associate pastor at the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. He is also currently pursuing a certificate in Spiritual Listening. He has a way of energizing those around him\, and when it’s not too frigid outside\, he enjoys long bike rides. \nFr. Charlie Brunick\, CSP is in Senior Ministry here in Grand Rapids and has been a Paulist priest for almost 52 years. An avid historian\, he educates his fellow Paulists around the dinner table about the community’s history. He also keeps busy with lots of long walks. An average day is 15\,000 steps and a good day is 20\,000 steps. \nFr. Joachim Lally\, CSP is in Senior Ministry here in Grand Rapids and has been a priest for almost 57 years. His humor and contemplative spirit bring life to those around him. When he’s not in the Dominican Republic on a mission trip\, he’s playing golf and helping at the Cathedral Clothing Center. \nClick Here to Register
