Dear Friends of the Center,

As we enter the month of June, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are invited to rediscover the profound love that lies at the center of our faith. Pope Francis, in his final teaching document, Dilexit Nos, reminds us: “His open heart has gone before us and waits for us, unconditionally, asking only to offer us his love and friendship.”

At the Catholic Information Center, this love is not just a message we proclaim – it is a way of life we cultivate. Through the Leadership Formation Institute (LFI), we are forming leaders who are shaped by Christian practices – prayer, sacramentals life, serbice, and community. These practices are not cimply routines; they are enounters with Christ that shape our identity and mission.

Christian practices form us into people of compassion, courage, and communion. They help us see the world through the eyes of Christ and respond with hearts open to others. As the LFI curriculum teaches, “practice makes progress” – and in that progress , we are drawn deeper into relationship with God and one another.

This transformation happens in community. It is in our families, parishes, and neighborhoods that we learn to listen, forgive, and lead. It is here that we discover our identity as beloved sons and daughters of God, called to be light in the world.

Two upcoming programs to help you deepen your identity are about how we disciple others. On June 10 at 7:00 p.m., we welcome back Cami Beecroft­-Mann who will offer a reflection on women leaders in the early Church. And on June 19th at 10:00 a.m., Paulist Father Ken Boyack will present insights and practical suggestions for handing on our faith to the next generation. Details of both programs are on the back of this letter.

Your generous support makes programs like these possible. Because of you, lay leaders are being equipped to serve with humility and joy. And both the spiritually curious and spiritually committed are meeting Christ in a new way, growing in faith and grace.
